Description
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District is issuing a Sources Sought Announcement for a construction project for Sagamore Bridge Deck Repairs, Bourne Massachusetts to determine the interest, availability, and capability of Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned, 8A, HUBZone, and Small Business concerns as described below. The NAICS code for this procurement is 237310 with a small business size standard of $33.5 Million. The estimated construction cost is between $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00. The project is planned to be issued on or about April 2009. The project will be completed in two phases. The construction will occur during the Fall 2009 and Spring 2010. The work involves the removal of existing pavement & waterproofing from the bridge deck and the reinstallation of waterproofing & bituminous pavement to the bridge deck and abutments. The work further consists of replacement of the concrete parapets, repairs to concrete sidewalk, curbs, and the rehabilitation of the complete electrical system. Work will be performed in thirds across the 4 lane width of the bridge, requiring three phases of construction and extensive traffic control. The bridge & abutment is 1833 long & 40 feet wide, excluding the curb and sidewalk. Interested firms should submit a capabilities package to include the following: business classification (i.e. HUBZone, etc.) as well as qualifications and experience in performing the work requirements stated above. Firms must submit past demonstrated similar construction experience on bridge deck rehabilitation and traffic control on a heavily trafficked bridge. Additionally, the firm must demonstrate experience in the manufacture and/or placement of modified bituminous concrete pavement with waterproofing additive. This experience must have been performed within the last five years. Responses are due March 27, 2009. Firms interested shall provide the above documentation in one original form and one copy. The Government will not pay for any material provided in response to this market survey nor return the data provided. This notice is for information purposes only and is not a request to be placed on a solicitation mailing list nor is it a Request for Proposal (RFP) or an announcement of a solicitation. The results of this survey will be considered to be in effect for a period of one year from the date of this notice.
