- Description
- DARPA-BAA-09-20 GATE Broad Agency Announcement The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency’s (DARPA) Strategic Technology Office (STO) is soliciting proposals under DARPA-BAA-09-20 for prototype development of a gravity-based tunnel detection capability. The Gravity Anomaly for Tunnel Exposure (GATE) program objective is to develop and demonstrate a prototype airborne gravity sensor system to detect and characterize tunnel networks. See the attached PDF. PROPOSERS’ DAY DARPA will host a Proposers’ Day in support of the DARPA-BAA-09-20, Gravity Anomaly for Tunnel Exposure (GATE), program on 24 April 2009 at Analytic Services Inc., Conference Center, 2900 S. Quincy St. Suite 800, Arlington, VA 22206, phone (703) 416-3222, fax (703) 416-8408 from 0800 to 1300. The purpose of this conference is to provide information on the GATE program, promote additional discussion on this topic, and address questions from potential proposers. The first session of the proposer's day will be held at the unclassified level and is for all proposers. The second session, immediately following the first session, will be held at the SECRET level and will address the classified aspects of the BAA. PROGRAM OBJECTIVE AND DESCRIPTION: The GATE Program will expand our ability to thwart both underground infiltration of secure perimeters and tactical underground operations. The specific goal of the program is to develop a prototype gravity gradiometer airborne system which significantly increases our capability to detect, classify, and characterize these subterranean tactical threats by their anomalous gravity signature. REGISTRATION INFORMATION: Proposers requesting to attend should submit their name, organization, and which sessions they desire to attend via email to the BAA administrative POC (email: DARPA-BAA-09-20) by 4:00 PM local time in Arlington, VA, on 10 April 2009. In addition, proposers requesting to stay for the classified session should submit a visitor request to Analytic Services, Inc. Visitor clearance information may be passed by Visit Notification through JPAS. The SMO code for Analytic Services Inc. is 4A4584. Alternatively, individual visit requests may be forwarded to Analytic Services Inc. Conference Center staff at Analytic Services Inc., Attn: Conference Center, 2900 S. Quincy St., Suite 800, Arlington, VA 22206). The name of the meeting is GATE Proposers Day. The fax number for visit requests is 703-416-8408. There is no registration fee for attending this conference. Attendance is not required to propose to any associated BAA. After the conference, there will be an opportunity to meet individually with Dr. Joseph Durek, Program Manager. Please contact the BAA Coordinator at email DARPA-BAA-09-20@darpa.mil to schedule an individual session. NOTE: PLEASE DO NOT CONTACT THE CONTRACTING OFFICER IDENTIFIED BELOW WITH RESPECT TO THIS PROPOSERS’ DAY ANNOUNCEMENT, BUT INSTEAD ADDRESS ALL INQUIRIES AS OTHERWISE SPECIFIED HEREIN.
