Description
This is a synopsis for open market purchase (OM) for NSN 8115-00-664-0058F. Unit of issue bundle of 15 (BD). Shall be in accordance with ASTM D 5118. Delivery is to Expanco, Inc., Fort Worth, TX 76140. Delivery is 30 days ARO. Offeror must be signed and dated. All pages must be returned. All responsible sources may submit a proposal. NSN 8115-00-664-0058F BOX, FIBERBOARD, SHIPPING: Shall be in accordance with ASTM D 5118 with the following characteristics: Type – CF Class – Domestic Style - RSC/201, Regular slotted container Variety – SW Grade - 200 Minimum Burst Strength - 275 PSI Nominal Size (inside dimensions): 8" long X 4" wide X 24" deep, all dimensions shall be -1/4", +1" Unit of Issue – BD (Bundle of 15 boxes) The boxes shall contain recovered materials in accordance with the EPA Comprehensive Procurement Guideline for Products Containing Recovered Materials (40 CFR 247). As a minimum, the boxes shall contain the Representative photo of RSC/0201 form. Copies of ASTM standards are available from the American Society for Testing and Materials, 100 Barr Harbor Drive, West Conshohocken, PA 19428-2959. The boxes shall contain recovered materials in accordance with the EPA Comprehensive Procurement Guideline For Products Containing Recovered Materials (40 CFR 247). As a minimum, the boxes shall contain the recommended recovered fiber content levels as stated in the EPA Paper Products Recovered Materials Advisory Notice (Federal Register, Vol. 61, No. 104, May 29, 1996). For example, corrugated containers (less than 300 psi) are required to have recovered fiber content of 25-50 % and contain postconsumer fiber of 25-50%. Corrugated containers (300 psi and greater) are required to have recovered fiber content of 25-30 % and contain postconsumer fiber of 25-30%. PACKAGING/PACKING: Fifteen (15) boxes shall be banded together into a bundle. The boxes shall be folded flat and tied or strapped using at least two (2) separate ties or straps per bundle. MARKING: Each box shall include normal commercial marking. The bundle shall be marked with the National Stock Number (NSN) and the requisition number in addition to any normal commercial markings present. SPECIAL MARKING REQUIREMENTS: All markings shall appear on a bottom flap or flaps in such a position that proper assembly of the box will conceal all but the manufacturers certification circle, which is not required to be concealed. A reduction in the minimum lettering size is permitted to allow the required information to fit in the available space. SPECIAL PALLETIZATION: The bundles of boxes shall be palletized on wooden pallets or skids. The pallets or skids shall be designed to accommodate handling by forklift trucks and shall allow 2-way entry. The pallet or skid shall have a minimum of 6 deck boards supporting the load. The palletized load shall be tightly unitized and secured to the pallet or skid by steel strapping or stretch film. The use of plastic strapping is not acceptable. The number of bundles per full pallet or skid load shall remain consistent throughout the contract or order. Quantities less than 1/2 a full pallet load need not be palletized. The palletized load shall not exceed 63 inches in height or 2500 pounds in total weight. NOTICE: Due to the spread of "oak wilt disease" all lumber used inside or outside a shipment must be BARK FREE. Notice of special requirements for shipment to all countries that have endorsed the IPPC Guidelines for treatment of non-manufactured wood packaging: The International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC) has approved and published on March 15, 2002, “Guidelines for Regulating Wood Packaging Material in International Trade”. Countries endorsing the IPPC Guidelines are found at http://www.aphis.usda.gov/ppq/swp/. Clause D-FSS-468 requires non-manufactured wood pallets and other non-manufactured wood packaging material used in shipments destined to IPPC compliant countries require the appropriate wood treatment. Additionally, shipments delivered to DOD distribution facilities or freight consolidation points for eventual delivery to or through EU/IPPC countries shall comply with applicable DLA Regulations and Procurement Letter PROCLTR 02-17.
