Description: The attached spreadsheet provides complete title of books, ISBN Numbers and quantity. The Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS), the DoD Medical School and Health Sciences University, Bethesda, intends to procure, on a competitive basis, Military and Medical textbooks for USUHS Nursing and Medical Students. This notice serves as a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the procedures in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This solicitation will be issued as a request for quote (RFQ). This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This RFQ incorporates all provisions and clauses in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAR) 05-26. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 424920 (Book, periodical, and newspaper merchant wholesalers) and a small business size standard of 100 employees and/or 511130 (Book Publishers) and a small business size standard of 500 employees. It will be the responsibility of the contractor to check FedBizOpps for any amendments to the solicitation. Evaluation Factors : The government will award a firm-fixed-price (FFP) contract or contracts resulting from this solicitation to the responsible offeror whose quote, conforming to this solicitation; will be most advantageous to the government. Price – Offerors are to provide pricing breakdowns if each textbook. Delivery – Must be delived by the requested delivery date of May 1, 2009. Award will be made on a best value determination considering price and delivery. The contractor shall provide pricing for the textbooks identified within the attached excel spreadsheet. The attached spreadsheet provides complete title of books, ISBN Numbers and quantity. Editions older than the ones listed will not be accepted. Government, University, and Bookstore pricing applies. All books must be new. Quoted prices are to include all applicable shipping charges. Please complete the spreadsheet with your quoted price for each textbook and submit spreadsheet as part of your quote. Multiple awards are a possibility. Please submit all questions and concerns in writing by March 26, 2009. All questions must be directed by email to Karen Mulzac at karen.mulzac@usuhs.mil and Tim Bunting at Timothy.Bunting@usuhs.mil. All quotes are due on April 2, 2009 at 4:30pm. All quotes must be valid until May 1, 2009. Anticipated award date is April 7, 2009. All quotes from responsible sources will be considered. (d) Comptroller General Examination of Record. (1) The Comptroller General of the United States, or an authorized representative of the Comptroller General, shall have access to and right to examine any of the Contractor's directly pertinent records involving transactions related to this contract.
