- Attachment 1, Base Map Amendment 1 to Solicitation FA3020-09-R-0004 SITE VISIT 1. A formal site visit to the project site will be held as follows: Date: 23 March 2009 Time: 10:00 AM Central Standard Time 2. A Pre-Site Visit Conference Meeting will be held at the Sheppard AFB Base Contracting Office Auditorium, Bldg 1664, 136 K Ave, Suite 1. This meeting will provide an overview of the project and will allow for accountability and transportation arrangements (Government Bus) to the project site. The aircraft hangar doors repair area is located adjacent to an aircraft parking apron, therefore, all site visit attendees will require physical escort to the project area. Privately owned vehicles will not be allowed on the aircraft parking apron. 3. Special Instructions: Contractors will comply with the following site visit instructions: a. Prospective contractors will contact either: Buyer: Terra Brown, (940) 676-5188/e-mail: terra.brown@sheppard.af.mil Or Contracting Officer: Gary Beck, (940) 676-5197/e-mail: gary.beck@sheppard.af.mil By telephone or email no later than Friday, 20 March 2009, to provide their company name and contact information of individuals that will be attending the site visit. b. Prospective contractors shall report to the Sheppard AFB Missile Road Gate Visitors Center at least One (1) hour before meeting time to obtain a visitor pass to enter the installation. Maps to the contracting office will be available. Contractors who drive shall bring a valid driver's license, current vehicle registration, and valid vehicle insurance certificate, for base visitor pass processing. Non-drivers will be required to provide a valid form of identification to enter the installation. c. Adequate parking is available at the Contracting Office. d. A contracting office representative will be available for assistance at the Main Gate Visitor Center. e. Since the Davis Bacon Labor Standards applies to this acquisition and Government safety directives requires processing of airfield waivers for contractor installation equipment exceeding certain heights, prospective contractors shall provide the following information to the contracting officer: (1) Estimated Number of employees who will be directly involved in installation activities on site: (2) Anticipated wage classification of workers, i.e., laborer, sheet metal worker, equipment operator etc. NOTE: Unlisted classifications needed for work not included within the scope of this solicitation's wage determination may be added after award. (3) Estimated number of vehicles that will need to operate at the aircraft hangars for repair operations: (4) Types of vehicles (i.e., forklifts, cranes, front end loaders, dump trucks etc.) (5) Height of tallest piece equipment NOTE: The above request information shall be submitted to the contracting officer by email or letter no later than 20 March 2009 (Maybe hand carried and presented at site visit). 4. SUBMIT ALL QUESTIONS PERTAINING TO THE SITE VISIT AND TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION REQUIREMENTS TO THE CONTRACTING OFFICER BY EMAIL NO LATER THAN 4:00 HOURS, 30 March 2009. THE GOVERNMENT WILL NOT ACCEPT QUESTIONS REGARDING THE ABOVE AFTER THIS DATE. 5. Offerors are urged and expected to inspect the site where services are to be performed and to satisfy themselves regarding all general and local conditions that may affect the cost of contract performance, to the extent that the information is reasonably obtainable. In no event shall failure to inspect the site constitute grounds for a claim after contract award.
