- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. W81NWY09482600 is issued as a request for quotation (RFQ). This solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-26. This acquisition is set aside for small business under NAICS code 339112, Size STD 500. The requirements in this solicitation: 1. Reflex Ultra 45 w/cord must be compatible with the Coblator II Generator Model #: RF4800E - QTY 60 (Option Year 1 & 2 Qty 90) 2. Evac Extra 70 must be compatible with the Coblator II Generator Model #: RF4800E - QTY 60 (activity will use 10 per month on call basis) (Option Year 1 & 2 Qty 90). 3. Coblator II Generator Model # RF4800E (Unit is being provided to activity at no cost from Vendor) Qty 1 PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE: 01 Apr 2009 TO 30 Sept 2009 with a 2 Year Option MFG: Arthrocare Corporation Salient Characteristics: 1. Coblation technology is a controlled, non-heat driven process - uses radiofrequency energy to excite the electrolytes in a conductive medium, such as saline solution, creating a precisely focused plasma. The plasma's energized particles have sufficient energy to break molecular bond within tissue, causing tissue to dissolve at relatively low temperatures (typically 40C to 70C). The result is volumetric removal of target tissue with minimal damage surrounding tissue. Many Coblation devices also are designed to stop blood (hemostasis) and coagulate or seal bleeding vessels. FAR provision 52.212-1 [Instructions to Offerors Commercial] applies to this acquisition to include the following addenda: All offerors are cautioned that if selected for award, they must be registered with the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) program. The CCR can be accessed via the internet at www.ccr.gov/. Confirmation of CCR registration will be validated prior to award. Evaluation of Quotes: Offers will be evaluated according to Far 52.212-2.
