Description
The US Army TACOM Life Cycle Management Command (LCMC) Integrated Logistics Support Center (ILSC) in Warren, Michigan has a requirement for an experienced travel vendor to develop and conduct two-day escorted and guided bus tours on 18-19 May 09 for approximately 100 employees who are considering relocating from Rock Island, Illinois to our location in Warren, Michigan. The bus trip from Rock Island to Warren (and return) has already been contracted and, while in Michigan, the two buses and their drivers are available to the group for ten hours per day. The coach tours are intended to give employees an overview of 'living and working' in the tri-county area (Macomb, Oakland and Wayne Counties) to include neighborhoods, schools, health centers and recreational areas of cities and townships within a 30 minute commute of TACOM-Warren. Tours should be at least eight hours daily, with time allotted for breaks and lunch (locations to be arranged by vendor). Vendor should develop and provide a packet of information for each traveler to use while on the tour and as a resource for later. Packets should include a daily schedule, information about each city and township on the tour, housing costs and real estate information for each city and township, county and city contact information. Packets should also include suggested evening activities to include local restaurants, entertainment options, athletic events, exercise facilities, and the local transportation available to travelers. Proposed daily agendas follow. DAY ONE. Proposed agenda: Transport from hotel to TACOM-Warren for security badging and morning visit. Morning will include attendance at a groundbreaking ceremony, 9:00-9:30 am, and tour of the Detroit Arsenals buildings and grounds. (Tour to be conducted by TACOM ILSC Executives.) Travelers will also participate in Armed Forces Day activities. At approximately 11:00 am, begin tour of Macomb County cities and townships: Warren, Sterling Heights, Shelby Township, Chesterfield Township, Clinton Township and St. Clair Shores. Bus Tour ends, and bus returns travelers to hotel. DAY TWO. Proposed agenda: Travelers depart from hotel to tour Oakland County cities of Rochester, Rochester Hills, Troy, Bloomfield Hills, Birmingham, Southfield and Royal Oak. Tour continues to Wayne County cities of Detroit, Livonia, Dearborn, Dearborn Heights and Grosse Pointe. The Point of Contact for questions regarding the bus tours is: Linda Reichlmayr Telephone: 586-574-6074 Email: reichlind@us.army.mil
