FedBizOpps Notice: Document Type: Sources Sought Notice Solicitation Number: NRMAH000-9-08966 Posted Date: March 17, 2009 Original Response Date: April 1, 2009 NAICS Code: 334519 -- Meteorological Tracking Instruments Manufacturing Description This is a Source Sought Synopsis only. The purpose of this synopsis is to obtain capabilities information from all size and types of firms to determine the degree of competition. Information received will be used to make a determination regarding the use of full and open competition or to set aside the procurement. No solicitation exists at this time; therefore, do not request a copy of the solicitation. If a solicitation is released, it will be synopsized in FedBizOpps. Requirements: 20 each, Argonaut-MD 1.5-MHz System, to measure ocean current SPECIFICATIONS Acoustic Current Meter Specifications: The instrument must have the ability to mate with the PMEL designed and manufactured ATLAS temperature/conductivity module. Velocity Range: ±6 m/s Resolution: 0.1 cm/s Accuracy: ±1% of measured velocity, ±0.5 cm/s User programmable data output rate from 10 seconds to 12 hours Instrument must have Temperature Sensor Resolution: 0.01°C Accuracy: ±0.1°C Compass/Tilt Sensor Resolution: Heading, Pitch, Roll 0.1° Accuracy: Heading ±2° Accuracy: Pitch, Roll ±1° Built-in calibration procedure to compensate for ambient magnetic fields Physical & Environmental Operating temperature: -5° to 40°C Depth Rating 600 m rated Delrin housing with 40 mm transducers Sampling Flexible sampling strategies for reduced duty cycle operation and extended deployments of over 1 year. Interested parties should submit: 1) a brief description of their capability to provide the required items; 2) evidence of experience and past performance (including a contact name and telephone number); 3) intention to submit a proposal as a prime contractor, and; 4) business company size, point of contact and DUNS number. The business size shall include any applicable preference program (i.e., 8(a), HUBZone, Service Disabled Veteran Owned, Small Business, etc.) For the purposes of this requirement, the NAICS size standard for small business is 500 employees or less.
