Description
Contract consists of work to paint and lead paint abatement on various piping, equipment and structural elements at the Beltzville Dam and Francis E. Walter Dam. The work in the Control Tower at Beltzville Dam, Lehighton, PA is to include (1) Removal of all lead based paint and repainting of all existing painted surfaces between elevations 519 ft and 530 ft. The surfaces include valves, hydraulic piping and hangars, conduits and railings. Also included are 16-inch water supply piping and the 2-inch fill line located in the recess between elevation 514 ft and 519 ft, the sump pump, motor, foundation, guard rails, and associated piping, with the exception of the water quality gate. Also included are the limitorque operators, valve gear boxes and stanchions located outside the tower on the bridge level adjacent to the Control Tower entrance, (2) Power washing and spot paint removal of peeling areas of all lead based paint and repainting of all existing painted surfaces between elevations 530 ft and 544 ft. The surfaces includes structural steel, hydraulic gate locking linkage, gate position indicator hardware, hydraulic system components, motor, pump, oil reservoir, and operating console. Option 1 shall include the power washing, spot mechanical cleaning of peeling areas and repainting of the structural steel for the elevator shaft way. The work in the Control Tower at Francis E. Walter Dam, White Haven, PA is to include (1) Removal of all lead based paint and repainting of all existing painted surfaces between elevations 1270 ft and 1300 ft, with the exception of the steel spiral stair assembly and the center service gate hydraulic valve and bonnet. The surfaces from which the paint is to be completely removed include valves, hydraulic cylinders, bonnets and piping, electrical conduits, hydraulic motors and hydraulic reservoirs, and sump pumps and associated piping and (2) Power washing and spot mechanical cleaning of peeling areas of all lead based paint and repainting of the surfaces of the steel spiral stair assembly; structural steel, railing and deck grating for the operating platform level; the center service gate hydraulic valve and bonnet; and gate hangers and anchor plates for the valve gates. Solicitation Number W912BU-09-B-0011 will be issued on or about 2 April 2009 with a bid opening date of 5 May 2009. Estimated cost range of the project is $250,000.000 to $500,000.00. The NAICS Code for this project is 238320 (SIC 1721) with a size standard of $14 million. Solicitation documents, plans and specifications will only be available via the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) homepage located at https://www.fbo.gov/. Registration for plans and specifications should be made via FBO Internet homepage and hard copies will not be available. No written or fax requests will be accepted. It is the contractors responsibility to monitor FBO for any amendments. Also, contractors who receive a federal contract of $25,000.00 are required by legislation (FAR 22.1310(b)) to submit an annual VETS-100 Report on your employment of targeted veterans. All contractors must be registered in the DODs Central Contractor Registration database as required by DFARS 204.7300. Davis Bacon rates will be applicable to the construction and bonding is required. Please review all bonds and accompanying documents required to be submitted.
