Description
The Defense Supply Center Philadelphia, 700 Robbins Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19111, intends to procure on a sole source basis with GE Medical Systems Information Technologies Inc to provide 12 months of imaging maintenance service for the Naval Hospital Bremerton in Bremerton, WA for the following GEM-PACS equipment listing: Serial # J38R0013F, Service: Comprehensive W_SW SPPT 24 x 7, Covered Product Description: ASSY MUSE ML370 G3, 72GB TOWER; Serial #’s SAD05352781GA, SAD05322728GA, SAD05352782GA, SAD05322729GA, SAD05332757GA, and SAD05392994GA service: Software Support Agreement – GEMSIT US, covered product description: CD-R Muse 5E Application; It has been determined that GE Medical Systems Information Technologies, Inc. is the only manufacturer capable of meeting this requirement for maintenance services for the Naval Hospital Bremerton. It is necessary to have maintenance of this critical medical equipment done by a company that has the expertise, special software, and tools required to service the equipment. This patient monitoring equipment is critical to patient care in the hospital. The equipment is used directly on patients to monitor their vital signs and physiological information. If the patient monitoring equipment is not working, or fails, and is not quickly repaired, there will be a serious negative impact on the ability to treat patients. The unique expertise and Original Equipment Manufacturer’s parts provided by GE Medical Systems will ensure the highest level of “up time” for this critically needed equipment. The Statutory authority for this sole source purchase is Title 10 U.S.C. 253 (c) (1) as implemented in the FAR 6.302-1(a) (2). The applicable NAICS Code is 423450 with a size standard of 100 employees. This notice is for informational purposes only; NO FORMAL SOLICITATION WILL BE ISSUED as a result of this announcement. Interested parties may identify their interests and submit technical information in response to this notice via email to the address listed below, no later than March 27, 2009 at 10:00 AM EST. A determination by the Government not to complete this proposed contract is entirely in the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received by March 27, 2009 at 10:00 AM EST, a sole source contract with GE Medical Systems Information Technologies, Inc. will be pursued.
