Description: The two (2) chemical powders that will be procured for the NOvA Project (High Energy Physics' (Neutrino) Project at Fermilab are the following: PPO: 2, 5 - diphenyloxazole (CAS# 92-71-7) and bis-MSB: 1, 4 - bis (methylstyrlyl) benzene (CAS# 13280-61-0). (More information on the NOvA Project can be found at the Fermilab Website fnal.gov.) A Certificate of Analysis shall be furnished by the supplier that contains the following parameters: PPO bis-MSB Melting Point 71 - 73 Degr. C 179 - 181 Degr. C Appearance White Powder Light Yellow Powder Odor Odorless Odorless Loss in Drying = 0.2% = 0.2% Residue None None Purity of Material = 99.6% = 99.6% Background = 30 cpm = 30 cpm Transmittance in Toulene = 85% @ 370 nm = 90% @ 420 nm IR Spectrum Conformation with spectra supplied on request.
