- This announcement is not a competitive request for proposals. Its a notification that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC) National Center for Environmental Health (NCEH) and Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR), intends to exercise an upcoming option period under an existing contract. This announcement also provides notification that the subject contract includes a second option period that may be exercised by the CDC in February, 2010. CDC intends to issue a contract modification to exercise the first option period on/or about June 1, 2009 for a period of 12 months. The CDC may exercise the second option period in June 2010 for the same services. This posting is to provide public notice of intent to exercise contract option period one (1) under Contract 200-2008-F-25443 for WESTAT, Inc., 1650 Research Boulevard, Rm RE164, Rockville, MD 20850-3195. This contract provides for services to assist NCEH/ATSDR in better communicating the findings of its laboratory professionals and in assisting non-scientists in understanding how to comprehend, interpret and apply biomonitoring information, when findings are often uncertain and when information is insufficient. Option period is from June 1, 2009 to May 31, 2010. Again, this notice is neither a competitive request for proposals nor a solicitation for offers. A competitive solicitation will not be issued and no further information will be provided. However, the Government will give consideration to interested parties that identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals by the response date of this notice.
