Description
The Intelligent Systems Div. at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has a requirement to enhance, deploy and evaluate Spoken Language Communication and Translation System for Tactical Use (TRANSTAC) Systems in Iraq and Afghanistan. The specific tasks pursuant to this initiative are described in the Performance Work Statement included in the solicitation. It is anticipated that the solicitation for this work will be issued on or about March 20, 2009, using FAR Part 12, Commercial Item Acquisitions utilizing FAR Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The Government anticipates the award of a fixed price Purchase Order on or about Apr. 3, 2009 with an 8-mo. performance period and one 6-mo. option period. The competitive solicitation, all amendments, and any questions and answers related to this procurement will be made available via the internet at http://www.fedbizopps.gov. The solicitation will only be available via the internet at the above website. Potential offerors are responsible for accessing the website. Interested parties must respond to the solicitation in order to be considered for award of any resultant Purchase Order. There is no written solicitation document available, telephone requests will not be honored, and no bidders list will be maintained. Potential offerors are requested to direct all questions via e-mail to randy.schroyer@nist.gov. To be eligible for award, offerors MUST be registered with the Central Contractor Registry: www.ccr.gov and have completed its representations and certifications found at http://orca.bpn.gov THIS REQUIREMENT IS SET-ASIDE FOR SMALL BUSINESSES ONLY. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 541712, and the size standard is 500 employees.
