Description
Force Calibration Press, Aircraft Platform Scales This request for information/sources sought announcement is issued to identify potential sources and gather information on current capabilities within the market. The Air Force Metrology and Calibration Program is considering a purchase of a Force Calibration Press, Aircraft Platform Scales. This item is an aircraft platform scales calibration press. The capacity of the press shall be at least 60,000 lbf. The press will be automated to provide constant load applications to platform scales and portable wheel weighers for 20 seconds with minimal change, and include a set of load cells, which must be removable for calibration. Software system will utilize load cells and provide an output at selected forces within the test item's measuring range. The overall required accuracy is to be 0.025% at all selected test points (increments of 10% of full scale) within each test instrument's range. Calibration software shall be included, so that 0 and 10 test points shall be entered into system for all calibration ranges (load cells shall be calibrated per ASTM E74). These test points shall be modifiable, if necessary. Software shall prompt operator whenever it is necessary to change load cells to maintain the 0.025% and appropriate range required for each scale calibration. The press will have the capability of calibrating all platform aircraft scales with capacities of 5,000 lbf to 60,000 lbf. The press will have the capability of applying loads precisely and maintaining the load for 20 seconds. The press will also have the capability of applying a load to the corners of the platform scales. Press shall include modifiable setups for different capacities of scales. The total estimated quantity is 11 Unit(s). Surplus or used material is not acceptable for this item.
