Description
The International Boundary Commission, United States and Canada (IBC), is mandated by treaty to maintain an effective boundary line between the two countries. This is accomplished, in part, by keeping a 20-foot wide strip (vista), 10 feet in each country, clear of trees, brush and other obstructions and the boundary monuments in good repair. This is a 42.55 mile vista-cutting project located along the North Line (Maine-New Brunswick) section of the U.S. Canadian Boundary. Contractor shall clear 42.55 miles of the International Boundary Line vista between the United States (Maine) and Canada (New Brunswick). Note that the distance given is a horizontal distance and does not take into account peaks and valleys. The 157 international boundary monuments located along this section of boundary shall be inspected, painted and photographed. Most of this work will have to be completed with hand tools such as chain saws and brush cutters, however portions of this project can be cut with a trctor and bush hog.
