- PRE-SOLICITATION NOTICE FOR Renovate 4th floor patient privacy building 133, VA North Chicago, Il. Contractor shall provide for and furnish all labor, superintendence, materials, tools, equipment, transportation, licenses, certificates, insurance, temporary protection, and other items designated under the provisions of this contract necessary to renovate approximately 25,300 gross square feet of the 4th floor - Building 133 In-patient nursing unit and replace all windows: Work includes general construction, alterations, mechanical and electrical work, laboratory equipment, utility systems, necessary removal of existing structures and construction and certain other items associated with the work.This construction project is set-aside for Service-Disabled-Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSBs). All prospective contractors must be registered on the VetBiz website, www.vetbiz.gov, to be considered for award. The solicitation will be posted on Fedbizops, however the specifications and drawings are only available on CD upon written request to Jeff Reed via email Jeffrey.Reed2@va.gov, letter, or fax (414-902-5420). There will be pre-construction conference held for this project and all prospective bidders are encouraged to attend. Details of the pre-construction conference will be included in the solicitation packages. The solicitation will be issued on/about April 13, 2009 with the bid opening on/about May 19, 2009. The bidder is responsible to monitor and download any amendments from Fedbizops which may be issued to this solicitation. In accordance with Public Law 109-461, the Veterans Benefits, Healthcare and Information Technology Act of 2006. Pursuant to 38 USC 8127(d), competition is restricted to SDVOSB construction firms. The project magnitude range is between $5,000,000 - $10,000,000. The North American Industry Classification Code (NAICS) for this procurement is 236220; size standard $33.5 Million applies. Time for completion is 520 days after Notice to Proceed. In accordance with FAR 52.204-7, Required Central Contractor Registration and in accordance with FAR 2.101, VAAR 802.101, VetBiz Registration, prospective firms must be registered in Central Contractor Registration (CCR) and in the VetBiz databases prior to award.
