The project will be priced as a Base Bid and one Option Line Item. The BASE BID is the costs associated with constructing a TRAINING RANGE for the Marine Corps at an area in Greater Sandy Run, an outlying area of Camp Lejeune located on North Carolina's Route 50 at Edens Road. The work includes the reconstruction of approximately 2 miles of single lane road into two- and four-lane asphalt and gravel roadway for training to defend against Improvised Explosive Devices. The work includes the construction of two villages, which will include mock buildings and search houses set in an urban village similar to areas where conflicts could occur. The work includes a number of masonry one-, two- and three-story building shells with hollow core concrete plank floors and roofs. The construction of an administrative training building with class rooms, storage and bathrooms is also included. There is a septic system with a pumped effluent line leading to a drain field. There! is approximately 1 mile of 4-inch electrical distribution line with transformers and CCTV power outlets. The work includes a concrete and steel pedestrian overpass across the roadway and a small parking lot area. OPTION ITEM 1 will include the construction of approximately 1,500 linear feet (lf) of 6' high, concrete block wall as additive work. OPTION ITEM 2 includes the remaining courtyard walls (approximately 1,805 lf).
