- Description
- Montgomery Information Technology Summit 2009Monday, May 18, 2009 - Thursday, May 21, 2009 What is Montgomery Information Technology Summit?Montgomery IT Summit is an annual event (this year celebrating its 15th anniversary) jointly sponsored by the US Air Force units at Maxwell Air Force Base - Gunter Annex in Montgomery, AL and the Montgomery Chapter of the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA). The event begins on Monday with the annual Tom Brantley Invitational Charity Golf Tournament, with proceeds benefitting the Montgomery AFCEA Chapter Educational Foundation. Since its inception, the Educational Foundation has invested over $3 million dollars in scholarships and other benefits for Montgomery area students, helping to transform Montgomery into one of the fastest growing centers of technical excellence in the Southern United States. On Tuesday, the day and a half conference portion of Montgomery IT Summit begins. This year's theme is "Collaborative Solutions -- Accelerated!". The goal is to understand how the Government can work with their contractor partners to deliver collaborative IT solutions and make them operational in a timely and effective manner for the Warrior. As always, our outstanding speakers and panel members will also focus on future growth areas and newly developing business opportunities for Industry participants. Each year the Montgomery AFCEA Chapter sponsors a luncheon as part of MITS. This year we are proud to announce that the luncheon speaker is Gen Norton A. Schwartz, Chief of Staff, United States Air Force. At the close of the Montgomery IT Summit Conference on Wednesday, the AF SOA Developers Conference kicks off. This day and a half event will assemble a community of peers to exchange ideas and discuss Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) collaboration and reuse capabilities in the Air Force and DoD, including what has worked, what did not work, and a review of best practices.
