- Description
- The Center for Health Equity Research and Promotion (CHERP) at the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System (VAPHS) has a requirement for computer assisted telephone interviewing (CATI) service to achieve the specific aims of VA HSR&D award for investigator-initiated research to CHERP investigator and VAPHS Health Scientist: Understanding Race and Culture in Living Donor Transplantation. The objectives of the study are to: (1) assess and compare cultural factors, transplant-related beliefs, psychosocial, and demographic characteristics among African American and white kidney transplant candidates; (2) examine the association of these factors with patient transplant preference (living donor vs. deceased donor); and (3) examine the mechanisms that underlie the relationships between the factors assessed and transplant decision making. The contractor shall have extensive infrastructure and experience in conducting telephone interviews with a variety of patient populations using a CATI system. Contractor must run an Encrypting File system (EFS) for all documents and data collected related to the contract and must use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology from VeriSign for web site security in order to transmit data. Contractor shall house their facilities in a Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) compliant data center in accordance with the Statement of Work. The anticipated period of performance is May 1, 2009 thru April 30, 2010 plus two one year option periods. The NAICS code is 541910 with a small business size standard of $7 million. Solicitation will be available on or about 3/27/09. The solicitation documents will become available through Federal Business Opportunities website at www.fedbizopps.gov on or about March 28, 2009.
