Description
AIR FORCE DORM FURNISHINGS This sources sought Request for Information (RFI) is issued for informational and planning purposes only. The information requested by this RFI will be used within the Air Force to facilitate decision making and will not be disclosed outside the agency. Please note that the Air Force will NOT be responsible for any costs incurred by interested parties in responding to this request for information. The Air Force is researching the feasibility of acquiring Dorm Furniture along with installation and removal services from manufacturers of Dorm Furniture for all CONUS Air Force Bases (including Alaska and Hawaii). The Dorm Furnishing items we are currently considering are: 1) Captain Beds/Bed Frames/Bunk Beds 2) Headboard/Footboard 3) Dressers/Chest of Drawers 4) Easy Chair/Recliner 5)End Tables 6) Bar Stool 7) Desk and Chair 8) Night Stand 9) Dining Table & Chairs 10)Sofa/Love Seat 11) Bookcase 12) TV Stand 13) Coffee Table 14) Wardrobe 15) Mattress & Box Spring. Services we are considering include installation and removal of new and old furniture. We would like to know your ability to handle a large dorm project of 100 rooms or more at one time along with other surge requirements. Also would like you to identify your normal procedures for handling mattress/box spring delivery for dorms. Request you provide your current commercial warranties on these products along with your commercial maintenance/service procedures. Request you specify the testing standards that apply to the above furniture items (i.e. ANSI/BIFMA X5.5 1998). Should a future requirement evolve from this requirements planning, it is anticipated that the period of performance will be a basic year plus four one-year option periods. For purposes of this synopsis the small business size standard is 500 employees for the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code 337122 (Nonupholstered Wood Household Furniture Manufacturing). The Federal Supply Classification (FSC) is 7105. Information requested: 1) Name and address of company, Business Size (Large, Small, etc), Company Point of Contact, Telephone number, Fax Number and E-mail addresses. 2) Capability information in terms of the ability to provide any or all of the Dorm Furniture and services identified above to any or all the Air Force Bases in the 50 United States. The capability package must be clear, concise, and complete. The Air Force is under no obligation to provide feedback to the company, or to contact the company for clarification of any information submitted in response to this request. Capability packages should be limited to no more than 40 pages. 3) Contract references relating to Large College Dorm or Government Dorm Furniture delivery and delivery services to include: Contract Number; agency supported, whether or not contractor was a prime or a subcontractor, period of performance, original contract value, final or current contract value, technical monitor and phone/fax number, POC with current phone/fax number, and a brief description of the effort; 4) Sample commercial contract with terms and conditions for a typical purchase. Include your definition of a "typical" purchase. 5) Any other information deemed useful to the Air Force. Submission Information: An electronic copy of each response to this RFI shall be submitted no later than 17 April 2009 via e-mail to Connie.Robben@scott.af.mil with a copy furnished to jerry.tanner.1@us.af.mil. Please refer any questions via e-mail to these same emails. Any responses received after that date may be evaluated at the Government's discretion as time permits.
