- NASA/GRC has a requirement for a quantity of three (3) replacement plateletinjector-faceplates for the existing GRC 69-Element Square-injector.NASA/GRC intends to purchase the items from Aerojet General Corporation, Sacramento, Ca. This work can only be performed by Aerojet General Corporation because they are theprovider of the original faceplates and own the original drawing with details of flowdistribution passages and element patterns. Use of the replacement faceplates must notrequire any modification to the existing injector assembly.The sole source is under the authority of FAR reference 13.106-1(b)(1), only oneresponsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12.This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures in FARPart 13.Organizations that believe they are capable of performing the described work may submittheir capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identifiedpoint of contact not later than 4/2/2009.Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determiningwhether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination bythe Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis,based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government.Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.An Ombudsman has been appointed.
