Description
THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) FOR THE UNITED STATES COAST GUARD (USCG) SECTOR NORTHERN NEW ENGLAND, IN SOUTH PORTLAND, ME. This RFI is part of a market research effort to assess industry capabilities that will best address the USCG's needs. You are invited to respond with information to assist the USCG Sector Northern New England in market research in identifying the feasibility of purchasing electrical power that has been generated by harnessing Tidal Energy. This electrical power would be used for non-critical components in support of USCG missions at Station Eastport, Maine and possibly other units throughout coastal Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont. USCG NEEDS: The USCG needs electrical power that has been harnessed from Tidal Energy, and capable of being used in a residential capacity. This electrical power will be used to power non critical components in support of USCG Missions in Eastport, Maine and possibly other units throughout coastal Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont. Non-critical components would be considered recharging of marine grade batteries, standard household lighting, portable electric heaters, etc. The information obtained from market research will help us determine the most suitable approach to acquire services. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this RFI or to otherwise pay for information received in response to this RFI. This RFI is issued for information and planning purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation. The Government requests that no proprietary information be provided in response to this RFI. In accordance with FAR 15.201(e), responses to this RFI are not offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. Inquiries regarding this RFI shall be sent directly to Gary.A.Hills@uscg.mil. Responses are requested to reply by 15 MAY 2009.
