Description
The purpose of this modification is to address some questions that have been asked: 1) Is hardware included? Answer: The contractor will be required to provide the hardware and to install it on the doors, the frames are required to be prepared for the mounting of the doors. 2) What brand of hardware is required as this is needed to determine the hinge cutout and bore on the doors? Answer: Specfic brandname hardware was not addressed in the initial soliciation, to answer this question the government will accept a brand name or equal equivalent to Hager hinges with a ball bearing feature. The contractor will be required to ensure that the frames, doors, and hardware all fit and function together. 3) Should the doors have a left swing or a right swing? Answer: For both types of doors (metal and wooden) the contractor shall provide half left swing and half right swing doors. 4) What species of wood door is required? Answer: The government requires a birch veneer or equal finish. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format prescribed in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation is being requested as a Request for Quote (RFQ); solicitation number is H92244-09-T-0160, as a Firm Fixed Price (FFP) type contract with fixed unit prices. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 2005-30, effective 17 February 2009. North American Industrial Classification Code (NAICS) 423710 applies to this procurement. This procurement is a 100% Small Business Set Aside. The size standard is 100 Employees. The DPAS rating for this procurement is DO-C9. Schedule of Supplies/Services CLIN 0001: Metal Doors. The government requires the acquisition of metal doors with the following characteristics: The doors are required to be constructed of 14 gauge galvanized metal, with steel stiffened vertical stiffeners (required not to be more than 6" apart), and reinforced for hardware (blocking). Polystyrene, foam or solid metal doors are not acceptable. Each door is required to be 3 foot wide by 7 foot high with a jamb depth of 5.75 inches. The doors are required to have the following hardware configuration installed for each door: three full mortise hinges that are built for heavy duty and heavy weight situations, one reinforced heavy duty pivot, mortis lever lock (keyed), double cylinder deadlock. Qty: 30, Unit of Issue: EA. ALL ITEMS ARE REQUIRED TO BE DELIVERED BY May 7, 2009. CLIN 0002: Metal Frames. The government requires fully welded hollow metal frames constructed of 14 gauge galvanized steel. Each frame is required to be 3 foot wide by 7 foot high by 1.75 inches. The frames are required to be prepped for the hardware listed for the CLIN 0001 doors and for an applied stop. Qty: 30, Unit of Issue: EA. ALL ITEMS ARE REQUIRED TO BE DELIVERED BY May 7, 2009. CLIN 0003: Wooden Doors. The government requires the acquisition of wooden doors with the following characteristics: The doors are required to be solid core doors (particle board inside, no foam) and reinforced for hardware (blocking). Each door is required to be 3 foot wide by 7 foot high with a jamb depth of 5.75 inches. The doors are required to have the following hardware configuration installed for each door: three full mortise hinges that are built for heavy duty and heavy weight situations, one reinforced heavy duty pivot, mortis lever lock (keyed), double cylinder deadlock. Qty: 30, Unit of Issue: EA. ALL ITEMS ARE REQUIRED TO BE DELIVERED BY May 7, 2009. CLIN 0004: Wood Frames. The government requires solid wooden frames. FAR 52.209-1 Qualification Requirements (FEB 1995) FAR 52.212-2 EVALUATION--COMMERCIAL ITEMS (JAN 1999) (a) The Government will award a contract resulting from this solicitation to the responsible offeror whose offer conforming to the solicitation will be most advantageous to the Government, price and other factors considered. The following factors shall be used to evaluate offers: Delivery, Price, and Technical Capability. (b) Options. The Government will evaluate offers for award purposes by adding the total price for all options to the total price for the basic requirement. The Government may determine that an offer is unacceptable if the option prices are significantly unbalanced. Evaluation of options shall not obligate the Government to exercise the option(s). Except as specified herein, no order, statement, or conduct of Government personnel who visit the contractor's facilities or in any other manner communicates with Contractor personnel during the performance of this contract shall constitute a change under the Changes clause in Section I. In the event the Contractor effects any change at the direction of any person other the Contracting Officer, the change will be considered to have been made without authority and no adjustment will be made in the contract price to cover any increase in cost incurred as a result thereof.. The offeror agrees to hold the prices in its quote firm for 30 calendar days from the date specified for receipt of quotes. Only complete quotes will be considered for award. Offerors must scrutinize this solicitation and ensure their proposals and submissions comply with all requirements. It is not sufficient to merely state your proposal complies with the solicitation requirements. You must clearly identify how your proposal meets ALL of the solicitation requirements. Only complete quotes will be considered. Offerors are required to provide specifications for the doors, frames and all of the hardware.
