Description
Department of Veterans Affairs, Office of Construction and Facilities Management (CFM), Washington, DC is issuing this Sources Sought to identify potential small, bondable, and experienced businesses such as: (1) Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB): (2) Veteran Owned Small Businesses (VOSB); (3) 8(a) contractors, (4) HUBZone Small Businesses, (5) Women Owned Small Businesses (WOSB), (6) and/or Small Disadvantaged Businesses (SDB) that are capable of meeting this construction requirement. The construction need is relative to Project No. 805CM2036 entitled Calverton National Cemetery Phase 1B Development, Calverton, New York. This project will develop approximately 33,000 full casketed gravesite, which approximately 17,000 will be pre-placed crypts, 3,000 niche columbarium and 500 in-ground sites for cremated remains. The project will develop approximately 40 acres to include: renovation of the administration and maintenance buildings; infrastructure repairs; extension of the existing irrigation system; renovation of a committal shelter and control booth; site furnishings; landscaping; road improvements; curbs and drainage structures; wetland preservation and mitigation; and LEEDs improvements. The estimated cost range for this project is between $20,000,000 and $50,000,000. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) is 237990 and the small business size standard is $33.5 Million. The award of a firm fixed-price construction contract is anticipated. Interested bondable small businesses having the skills and capabilities necessary to perform the stated requirements are invited to provide information to contribute to this sources sought. Responses must include the following information: (1) Company name, address, point of contact with phone number and e-mail address; (2) Business size determination and qualifying small business status; (3) Bonding capacity (from surety); and (4) Construction experience of similar projects in size and scope (minimum 3). You are required to E-mail your responses to the Contracting Officer Gregory Sabater, at Gregory.M.Sabater@va.gov no later than 4:00 pm EDT on April 17, 2009 and in the subject line state Calverton National Cemetery and Company Name. Please note that this is not a request for proposal (RFP) and the government is only seeking information for market research purposes only. The government may or may not issue solicitation documents.
