- US Army, Army Contracting Command, JM&L Contracting Center, Picatinny, NewJersey, Soldier Weapons Acquisition Center on behalf of the Office of the Product Manager, Crew Served Weapons, Picatinny Arsenal, NJ, would like to survey the domestic manufacturing base to identify potential suppliers for an integrated Inertial Navigation Unit (INU)/ Global Positioning System (GPS). The principal goal of this survey is to identify potential suppliers for an integrated Inertial Navigation Unit (INU)/ Global Positioning System (GPS). The INU/GPS will be used on ground vehicles to identify vehicle direction of travel/ vehicle orientation/ vehicle position for mapping purposes. Minimum specifications as follows: - Integrated GPS/INU package with RTCM and WAAS Compatibility- RS232 interface- Operating power range: 9-42 VDC, less than 5 Watts- Operating Temp:-40C to +71C- Weight: Less that 1.5 Lb- Size: Less than 36 cubic inches- SMA GPS Antenna Connector- Environmentally Sealed- EMI & Vibration Resistant- Attitude information (Roll, Pitch, Heading) updated at 100Hz or greater.- Heading and attitude resolution of less than.02 degrees.- Standard DB9 or DB15 interface. Sources demonstrating militarily relevant commercial off the shelf or modified commercial off the shelf items will be considered responsive to this solicitation. Potential offerors should ensure inclusion of : - Any experience in candidate INU/GPS units that have been fielded, with relevant description of the systems(vehicles) and dates of fielding. (If applicable) - Candidate supplier's production capability per month and ramp up time needed to achive maximum production. - Unit cost, to include price discounts for larger quantities. The Government recognizes that proprietary and/or classified data may be a part of this effort. If so, clearly mark such restricted/proprietary and classified data and present them as an addendum to the non-restricted/non-proprietary and unclassified information. All information is to be submitted at no cost or obligation to the Government; information provided will not be returned. Responses should be limited to no more than twenty (20) pages. All responsible, interested Offerors are encouraged to submit their capabilities / qualification data and any pertinent information via email, or electronically, NO LATER THAN APRIL 21, 2009. TELEPHONE INQUIRIES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. The Government will accept written questions by email. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION AND DOES NOT OBLIGATE THE GOVERNMENT TO ISSUE A SOLICITATION. This Market Survey is for information and planning purposes only, and does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP). This Market Survey is not to be construed as a commitment by the U. S. Government. If a formal solicitation is generated at a later date, a solicitation notice will be published. No award will be made as a result of this Market Survey.
