Description

Please fill out attached solicitation The government intends to sole source award this contract to: INSTRON Corporation 825 University Ave. Norwood, MA 02062-2643 For the following reasons: 1) The Materials Laboratory currently has an Instron Tensile Tester Model 3385H Testing System that was purchased through Instron Corporation. In the process of increasing our ancillary functions it was found that it did not have certain accessories needed to perform additional testing. 2) The accessories package purchased through Instron also provides the Materials Laboratory with certain features that are exclusive to Instron made accessories and are listed below. All other accessory packages would require additional cost to make the accessories fully compatible to Instron Tensile Tester Model 3385H Testing System. a) Flexure 3-point bend fixture b) Guided- Bend / Weld Bend fixture c) Wedge action grips In accordance with FAR 5.207 (c) (13) (ii) - All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation, which shall be considered by the agency.
