Description
Recovery: Construction Managment Services STATEMENT OF WORK CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT SUPPORT SERIVCES March 30, 2009 The Contractor shall provide construction management support services for the Office of Engineering Design and Construction (OEDC), Smithsonian Institution (SI) for the period of April 1, 2009 (or date of award, if later) through December 1, 2009 (eight months). The Contractor shall provide support to the SI NZP Repair Bridges project (0933108). Contractor personnel shall report to the Contracting Officer's Technical Representative (COTR) or Resident Engineer (RE). The Contractor shall perform the following functions: Provide Pre-Construction Services, including review of the draft Federal Highway Administration Bridge Inspection Reports, review of existing field conditions, development and assemblage of engineering details and specifications into appropriate scope/bid packages, development of budget estimates. Coordinate with NZP and the National Park Service to develop acceptable, minimally disruptive traffic control and staging plans. Review and manage Critical Path Management (CPM) schedules for the multi-discipline construction project. Informs RE and/or COTR of progress and identifies potential schedule delays. Responds to inquiries and resolves scheduling problems. Monitors the construction activities of the general contractor, sub-contractors and consultants, providing detailed technical reports of such activities, taking necessary action to correct deficiencies and identifying areas of potential problems. Works closely with COTR and/or RE to insure that the contract specifications and plans are implemented accurately and efficiently in compliance with legal codes, regulatory requirements and meet engineering and technical standards. Continually reviews engineering and technical specifications of the project to determine accuracy as compared to actual on-site conditions. In consultation with the COTR and/or RE, takes corrective action as required, revising specifications or calculations and coordinating such. Monitoring work being performed and site conditions for compliance with safety and engineering standards. Review statements of work for accuracy and completeness. Provide contract administration services such as review of submittals, requests for information (RFI), value engineering proposals, correspondence preparation, etc. Provide service to SI customers via telephone, e-mail and in person. Other related services.
