- The Department Of Veterans Affairs, VISN 15 Contracting Office intends to release a commercial solicitation for a Cholagiopancreatoscopy System to perform cholangioscopy which means direct visualization of the common bile duct. Narrowing of the common bile duct can occur due to cancer of the bile duct or due to a number of benign conditions like chronic pancreatitis etc. Products offered must provide direct visualization of the narrowing in the common bile duct. This will help in differentiating benign conditions from cancer of bile duct. Direct visualization will allow the doctor to take biopsies from the most appropriate areas and thus improve the yield and accuracy of diagnosis. This requirement is for the Kansas City, MO. VA Medical Center. All contract details, to include full specifications will be included in the Request For Quote, which will be released on or about April 3, 2009.
