Description
This notice is a Sources Sought Announcement (SSA) to identify potential additional sources of supply for planning purposes only and shall not be considered as an invitation for bid, Request for Quotations or Proposals, or the authority to enter into negotiations for a contract award. Information or results accumulated through responses received on this SSA will assist the Army in determining the acquisition strategy for a proposed action to procure NSN #: 5865-01-565-6396, P/N: 6K Module Kit-PM-CC; and 5865-01-565-3816, P/N: 6K16V-24V-PM-CC, which are unique items customized specifically for the Army. The Army has a general baseline specification for the -commercially-available- base chassis -P/N: 6K16V-, which comprises of 80% of the 6K16V-24VDC-PM-CC product. However, the Army does not possess detail performance specification for 20% of the configuration items as they are considered intellectual property of the current supplier, GarrettCom Inc. The Government has identified a need for both items, which are anticipated to be placed under a single contractual Firm-Fixed-Price (FFP) action at the appropriate time with a FFP option to procure and 5865-01-565-3816, P/N: 6K16V-24V-PM-CC within 90-180 days of contract award. Interested supplier must be capable of fully complying with projected required delivery schedule, which is a minimum of 4 weeks, and a not to exceed 6 weeks from contract award. Firm commitment to contract delivery schedule is extremely critical and non-negotiable. The Contractor must possess and demonstrate availability of various types of assets and resources such as facility, tooling, test equipment, and experienced personnel with capability to supply the items since the Army does not possess rights to the proprietary data. Be aware that availability of Government Furnished Equipment to support required testing cannot be guaranteed. In addition, potential sources must comply with the following requirements: "Identification of contractor as a Large or Small Business and type (HUB Zone, 8(a), Women-Owned, or Non-Disadvantage). "Past Performance with similar efforts, last manufacturing effort for these items; also provide Government contract number if applicable. "Provide current quality standard certification and quality standard that would be in-place for contractual efforts. Potential suppliers interested in this proposed action must so indicate by responding via email to Point of Contacts identified herein. Responses must be unclassified and must include company name, POC to include: name, position, telephone #s office and mobile, and email address. All interested sources are encouraged to respond to this SSA by providing the above information on or before Close of Business Friday 17 April 2009, 1600 Eastern Daylight Time. All proprietary and/or restricted information shall be clearly marked. Be aware that the Government does not intend to pay for information submitted in response to this SSA.
