Description
Scope of WorkBLDG 27, MLHMLH Common Area Carpet Upgrade Correspondence should be forwarded to David Berger via email; david.berger@navy.mil. Contractor shall provide all labor and equipment to accomplish the carpet upgrade in MLH common areas, a total footprint of approximately 1,570 S.Y. Government shall provide the carpet inventory of 1,030 S.Y. and adhesives to install them. Contractor shall provide approximately 540 S.Y. of new additional carpet, and adhesives to complete the project. The new contractor provided carpet, shall match the Government supplied (30 oz., Leo, Sin: 31-601, J & J Xtra Terrestrial II 12') carpet..Demolition of existing carpet (1,570 S.Y.) and cove base (3,700 L.F.)..Installation of new carpet and new cove base..See attached Excel spreadsheet matrix and marked drawings with highlights for details. During all work progress the contractor shall be responsible for building contents protection and clean up of the surrounding jobsite and dumpsite areas on a daily basis. Contractor shall be expected to restore all damaged areas of existing structures, equipment, finishes caused by work progress to their pre-construction condition at the contractor's expense and verified as such by the Contracting Officer. The Contractor shall be responsible for proper disposal of all removals and clean up of all dust and debris generated at the jobsite on a daily basis. Contact Naval Station Newport's Environmental Division for specific direction at 401-841-7561. Bidders are expected to visit the site of work to make a survey of the conditions to be encountered which may affect the cost of the performance of the work. Failure to familiarize with the conditions shall not relieve the contractor from the responsibility for full completion of the work. The contractor is required to contact the Facilities Support Contracts Office @ 401-841-2047 prior to commencement and upon completion of work. Work to be performed Monday through Friday 0700-1530. Safety Requirements: Contractor shall refer to and comply with the NAVFAC Safety Requirements Reference USACE Safety Manual #EM 385-1-1, dated November 2003, during all phases of work progress.
