- VA-241-09-RI-0168Sources Sought VAMC Northampton MA 421 N. Main St. Leeds, MA 01053 THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE ONLY. This is not a request for proposal. There will not be a solicitation issued at this time. The Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN 1)- Northampton VAMC, has a requirement to provide and install a Medical Air Compressor System, Medical Vacuum System, and Medical Gas Zone Alarm System. The existing combine system will also be removed by the contractor. This notice is published to conduct market research to determine if there is a sufficient number of certified Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB) or Veteran Owned Small Businesses (VOSB) capable of performing the requirements to warrant a solicitation set-aside. It is strongly recommended that interested parties register in the US Department of Veterans Affairs Vet Biz database. Registration may be accomplished athttp://www.vip.vetbiz.gov/. Interested parties responding to this sources sought request shall submit the following information at a minimum: (1) company name and address, point of contact with phone number, and DUNS number; (2) documentation relating to capability of performance of the construction project (including references); (3) intentions of subcontracting program to include set-asides; (4) proof of registration in the VA Vet Biz website or intention of registration prior to submission of offers to a solicitation; (5) documentation on company's bonding capacity and limitations; and (6) any other pertinent company documentation. The response date to this Sources Sought notice is April 16, 2009 at 4:00 pm. This market research is for informational and planning purposes only to determine if a SDVOSB or VOSB set-aside is appropriate. The Government will not pay any costs for responses submitted. Electronic submissions are acceptable via Jane.LaBorde@va.gov Over View of Combined System: The medical air compressor system shall be a duplexed system wired for triplex controls. Provide a complete medical air source which is or is functionally equivalent to a BeaconMedaes model LPS-3D-SD80-SPL duplex 3 HP scroll compressor system with expandable control panel (triplex wired) complying with all relevant requirements of NFPA-99-2005-5.1.3.5 for supplying medical air continuously for Hospital use. The compressors shall be Scroll type and in accordance with the following specifications will be pre configured to accept a third scroll compressor as needed. All components are at least duplexed and valved to permit service to any component without interrupting air supply to the facility. Addition of a third compressor at a later time will be via simple tie in. Furnish a complete plant consisting of compressors, receiver, air treatment system and controls capable of providing scheduled capacity with one compressor out of service. The medical vacuum system shall be a duplexed system wired for triplex controls. Provide a complete medical vacuum source which is or is functionally equivalent to a BeaconMedaes model LPV-3D-H120-TC-SPL duplex 3 HP claw medical vacuum system with expandable control panel (triplex wired) complying with all relevant requirements of NFPA-99-2005-5.1.3.5 for supplying medical vacuum continuously for Hospital use. The compressors shall be claw type and in accordance with the following specifications will be pre configured to accept a third claw head as needed. All components are at least duplexed and valved to permit service to any component without interrupting vacuum supply to the facility. Addition of a third vacuum head at a later time will be via simple tie in. Furnish a complete plant consisting of vacuum pumps, receiver, and controls capable of providing scheduled capacity with one vacuum out of service Zone Alarm Functions: Medical compressed air alarms: Pressure alarms: Functions when pressure in branch drops below 275 kPa (40 psi), plus/minus 14 kPa (two psi) or increases above 235 kPa (60 psi), plus/minus 14 kPa (two psi) set points; operated via transducers. Oxygen alarms: Functions when pressure in branch drops below 275 kPa (40 psi), plus/minus 14 kPa (two psi) or increases above 235 kPa (60 psi), plus/minus 14 kPa (two psi) set points; operated via transducers. Vacuum alarms: Low vacuum alarm: Functions when vacuum in branch drops below 40 kPa (12 inches) Hg; operated by Transducer. End
