Description
This is a SOURCE SOUGHT NOTICE ONLY. This is not a request for proposal. The U.S. Army Contracting Agency, Directorate of Contracting, Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD., is looking for a source for the following requirement. Demolition and disposal of existing glued down carpet and cove base throughout hallway and offices on the 3rd floor of building 314. Install new carpet and cove base in hallways and offices. The following rooms are NOT included: 328, 326, 326A, 326B, 326C/D, 300(historical files storage), 302(ladies room), 304(locked utility closet), 306(mechanical room), 308(copier room), 310(telephone closet), 316(utility closet), 322(steps to HVAC controls), 324(LAN network closet), 317(mens room) and 319(utility room). Existing carpet at 3rd floor elevator door will NOT be replaced DIO has identified materials under existing hallway carpeting that do contain asbestos. In hallways cut carpet in 6 inch strips and carefully roll up and remove in a manner to avoid pulling up floor tiles. If abatement is required DTC will contact the GAPG Asbestos Abatement Team (POC Jeff Smith) for its removal. Floor preparation will be to fill any holes in floors, and flash patch as required. Apply layer of thin set material as required to provide a smooth and level surface. New carpet is to be jute backed/unitary backed and will be direct glue installation. The glue used to install the new carpet must be eco/low odor. Include moldings, trim, edge strips and transition bars, etc and any miscellaneous materials and all accessories as required. The use of transition strips at hallway doors should not be used. Office carpeting and hallway carpeting should be installed with seams. If a transition strip is used it will require all hallway doors to be trimmed and re-hung. We do not want that, install carpet so as to prevent this. Government is responsible for the removal and reinstallation of existing furnishings. Replacement carpet shall be commercial grade, 30oz, nylon, and have anti-static properties. Color selection will be made by the government Replacement carpet will be direct glue. Use only eco/low odor glue. New carpet must meet minimum average critical radiant flux of 0.45 watts per square centimeter when tested in accordance with ASTM E 648. New carpet must meet static control of less then 3.5kv when tested at 20 percent relative humidity and 70 degrees F in accordance with AATCC TM 134. Cove base will be 4 inch, color-Black. Work schedule will be established with vendor at start of the project. Weekends and Saturday work is an option.
