Description

The AV8B's F402 engine utilizes a variable compressor inlet guide vane control system (EVICS) which incorporates a digital controller (IDEC). Hamilton Sunstrand developed and manufactures the EVICS System. The IDEC contains two control channels. Each channel performs fault detection functions as part of the its normal operation. When either IDEC channel detects a fault condition, it records the fault code along with diagnostic parameters in a section of non-volitile memory designated aa the fault code store. The IDEC also continuously broadcasts the values of a number of software variables through it serial data connection. The required software uploader fault downloader and data logger system is intended to communicate with the IDEC for the purpose of downloading fault codes and uploading software into non-volitile memory. The same equipment must be capable of monitoring, displaying, and recording all available parameters in the IDEC software in real-time while the EVICS system is operating. The EVICS system data is proprietary to Hamilton Sundstrand. The required item can not be provided without said propietary data. NOTE 22 Applies.
