Description
SCOPE OF WORK MANUFACTURING CALIBRATION TEST BLOCKS FOR SHEARWAVE ULTRASONIC TESTING OF HP FLASKS 1. NAVFACEMGCOM plans on establishing an inventory of calibration blocks to be used for shear wave testing of their high pressure flasks used in diving and hyperbaric systems. We have purchased flask material from CPI Industries for each of the flask types and rated pressures. A set (one axial and one circumferential) of calibration blocks would be produced for each flask type and rated pressure. Attached are further details showing; an example set of cal blocks and ASME block specification. This attached spec provides a square notch depth range that can be applied to the MIL-STD and DOT blocks. The existing flask rings (each one and half inch width) would be shipped at government expense to your facility. Each finished set of stamped cal blocks would include a heavy duty storage and shipping container, and support certification documentation for distribution by our office to field locations for flask inspection testing. 2. The qualified manufacturer shall cut, machine, stamp each calibration block as identified below and ship the finished blocks and remaining raw flask material to our Ocean Construction Support Facility at Saint Julian's Creek in Portsmouth, Virginia. The OCSF point of contact is Jamie Kelly at (757)485-6403. a) one set - MIL-F-22606C Class 3000 18"OD x.561" min wall b) one set - MIL-F-22606C Class 3000 18"OD x.933" min wall c) two sets - ASME SF 3 & 4 18"OD x.764" min wall (3232 psi MAWP) d) two sets - ASME SF 3 & 4 20"OD x 1.303"minwall (5500 psi MAWP) e) one set - DOT-3AA-2400 24"OD x.584" min wall (2400 psi MAWP) 3. The manufacturer shall be experienced in making standard test blocks using electrical discharge machining (EDM) for the Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) industry in support of examination procedures specified in American Society of Mechanical Engineers, American Society of Testing and Materials, National Institute of Standards and Testing and Military Standards 271 and 278. 4. The manufacturer proposal shall include sufficient details (items, tasks and associated costs) to compare against other proposals. 5. The delivery of the test blocks to the above address shall be accomplished within 60 days after award.
