Description
This Governmentwide point of entry announcement is in accordance with 5.204. The US Maritime Administration, Division of Pacific Operations intents to procure construction services to design and build 10 (ea) Access Platforms. Subpart 36.3Two-Phase Design-Build Selection Procedures will be used. FAR PART 36.6 WEB ADDRESS: http://www.acquisition.gov/far/current/html/Subpart%2036_3.html#wp1076441. One solicitation may be issued covering both phases. Brief Description: Contractor to provide personnel landing platforms to accommodate 6-8 personnel, fabricated from environmentally friendly material enable to withstand harsh salt water and weather conditions, capable of being suspended from the top with cabling, must have adequate guard rails to ensure personnel from falling off on 3 sides and have adequate buffering (padding) to prevent damage from a large vessel collisions on 3 sides. Estimated project cost for both Parts 1 and 2 is between $150,000-$250,000. Work location is limited to northern California locations. Tentative dates for issuing the solicition is 5/25/09, opening bids is 6/25/09, and completing contract performance 10/1/09. Date by which requests to be included on the mailing list is 5/1/09. Award is restricted to small businesses. No amount is to be charged for solicitation documents. No paper copies of the solicitation will be available. (3) Effective January 1, 2005, bidders are to submit representations and certifications electronically via the Business Partner Network (BPN) Website at http://orca.bpn.gov. (4) ATTENTION: Minority, Women-owned, and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs): The Department of Transportation (DOT), Short-Term Lending Program (STLP) offers working capital financing in the form of lines of credit to finance accounts receivable for transportation related contracts.
