Description
The purpose of this Request for Information (RFI) is to conduct market research for a Millimeter Wave (mmW) Technology Briefing and Demonstration. The United States Marine Corps (USMC) desires briefing and live demonstration of Cooperative Target Identification (CTI) using mmW technology that is Standard North Atlantic Treaty Organization Agreement (STANAG) 4579 compliant. Briefing should last no more than 30 minutes and demo last no more than 15 minutes. Location for the briefing and the demonstration could be at the Marine Corps Base (MCB), Quantico, VA or area on the east coast. Briefing should cover the following: 1.Discussion of technology maturity (Technology Readiness Level (TRL))2. Application across the ground to ground domain (stabilized platform, un-stabilized platform, dismount) and the air to ground domain. 3.Miniaturization trends4.Efficacy of technology in battlefield conditions (smoke, dust, day/night, rain/snow, fog, temp extremes)5.Potential cost and cost reduction strategies The audience for the briefing and demonstration will be senior USMC, Army, and Joint Forces Command General Officers. The demonstration must consist of interrogation and response of moving and stationary targets in open and close terrain, using available technology with emphasis on un-stabilized platform demonstration. If feasible, demonstration of dismount mmW technology is requested. All equipment must be provided by industry. The briefing and demonstration will be at no cost to the Government. Responses to this RFI shall not exceed ten (10) pages, including cover letter and contact information. Subject response must contain: (1) Status and type of demonstration equipment; (2) Demonstration requirements (space, power, targets, etc.); (3) Ability to enter into a no cost to government Memorandum of Agreement; (4) Capable of performing both the briefing and the demonstration within a very short time frame. Responses are due no later than April 21, 2009. Estimated date for demonstrations is first week of May.
