- NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD ON A SOLE-SOURCE BASIS: Pursuant to FAR 6.302-3 "Industrial Mobilization; engineering, developmental, or research capability; or expert services, " the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) intends to award a sole-source contract to the City University of New York/ College of Staten Island, (CSI/CUNY), New York, NY to conduct research and to complete marine bird surveys and maps.CSI/CUNY has an established relationship with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration National Marine Fisheries Service (NOAA/NMFS) which allows CSI/CUNY students to cruise on board NOAA/NMFS's " ships of opportunity " which travel the Northwest Atlantic waters. The data collected by these students is critical to model and predict abundance of bird populations and to better understand the impact of offshore activities, including alternative energy development. The study is estimated to continue for a minimum period of two years.Classification System (NAICS) Code for action is 541712 - Research and Development in the Physical, Engineering, and Life Sciences. This is not a solicitation for quotations, but rather a notice of the Agency's intent to make a sole-source award to CSI/CUNY. There will be no solicitation issued or available. This notice is for information only. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION FOR PROPOSALS, AN INVITATION FOR BIDS, OR A REQUEST FOR QUOTATIONS.
