- This is a sources sought notice published for market research purposes only. Anticipated NAICS code is 115310. The Alaska Region is conducting market research on possible upcoming fuel reduction projects that may be issued on the Seward Ranger District on the Chugach National Forest in FY 09. Funds are not currently available or obligated for these projects. If you are interested in the types of projects listed below, please provide the following information concerning the status of your company: •Company Name and Address: •DUNS Number: ___________________________ •Company Size status: Large or Small business. Yes or No The Forest Service is interested in obtaining responses to this Source Sought notice from prospective contractors but no contractor shall be reimbursed for providing this information. Information provided in response to this request must be provided in writing and include a point of contact name, phone and fax numbers and email address. Responses may be faxed to (907) 586-7090, emailed to dkoelling@fs.fed.us or mailed to US Forest Service, P.O. Box 21628 Juneau, AK 99802. Please provide your response by 04/24/09 if you are interested in these types of projects. This notice is posted for the purposes of market research only and is not a request for obtaining prices. The scope of work for these projects may include mechanical fuel or hand fuel reduction. Mechanical fuel reduction is performed by mechanically felling and machine piling hazardous fuels with a maximum treated piece speficication of 20’ in length. Handfelling is performed using chainsaws and hand piling hazardous fuels with a maximum treated specificiatons of 20’ in length.
