Description
Draft Statement of Work - Serum Repository, Influenza The purpose of this announcement is to seek potential sources for a procurement to obtain specimens and supporting clinical information to establish a standardized national repository of control serum samples for the study of Lyme borreliosis. A draft statement of work is attached to this announcement providing additional information about the requirement. Further, the Government is seeking information on the overall cost associated with a project of this type. It is expected that successful vendors would be able to demonstrate the following: 1. Access to a suitable patient population. 2. Experience in the diagnosis of influenza and the culture of influenza virus. 3. Previous experience obtaining IRB approval of a protocol that involved acquisition of clinical specimens and possession of an institutional FWA number is desirable. The Small Business North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code for this requirement is 541711, Research and Development in biotechnology with a size standard of 500 employees. All contractors who have the capability and interest in this requirement are asked to submit a capability statement to the Contracting Officer no later than 17 April 2009. The statement should not exceed two (2) pages in length and should include the following: 1. Information as to your capability to perform this requirement 2. Your business size status as it relates the identified NAICS code (or nonprofit, educational institution, etc.) 3. A rough estimate of the total cost of this project and any major cost drivers you feel are involved. Please note this is not a request for proposals but rather a request for information. Detailed information regarding your approach or pricing is not being requested at this time. Information obtained will be used for purposes of market research only. Should the Government determine to obtain proposals for this requirement, a separate solicitation will be issued and posted. All information provided by vendors in response to this announcement marked as proprietary will be protected as such and no information obtained through this announcement will be released outside the Government.
