- Description
- The work will consist of maintenance dredging Kings Bay Entrance Channel, Cut 1-N, to a project depth of 49-feet plus allowable overdepth. The total quantity of material is approximately 860,000 cubic yards with placement in the designated Ocean Disposal Area, Fort Clinch Disposal Area and South Jetty Disposal Area. The Ocean disposal, Fort Clinch Disposal, and South Jetty disposal areas are respectively located approximately 12.5, 3, and 1.5 miles from the authorized project. The contract will be broken up into a base bid and option bid items as follows. Base Bid consists of approximately 765,000 cy of the dredged material to be placed at the Ocean Disposal Area (D/A-O). Option A consists of placing 70,000 cy of material at Ft. Clinch Disposal Area (D/A-F) and Option B will place the remaining 25,000 cy of material at the South Jetty Disposal Area (D/A-SJ). Only hopper dredges will be allowed to work on this contract. Work also includes turbidity monitoring, endangered species monitoring, and non-capture sea turtle trawling. If options are awarded, work will include beach tilling and sea turtle monitoring and possible nest relocation. Magnitude of construction is between $5,000,000.00 and $10,000,000.00. THIS IS AN UNRESTRICTED ACQUISITION. COAST GUARD CERTIFICATION OF VESSELS IS REQUIRED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE SEAGOING BARGE ACT. ALL RESPONSIBLE BIDDERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO PARTICIPATE. There will be a price preference for certified HUBZone small business concerns that comply with the requirements in the solicitation as stipulated in FAR 19.1307. The solicitation will be issued on or about 30 April 2009 with bids due on or about 8 June 2009. Solicitation will be issued in electronic format only and will be posted on the Army Single Face to Industry (ASFI) website at https://acquisition.army.mil/asfi/. In order to receive notification of any amendments to this solicitation, interested vendors must REGISTER AS AN INTERESTED VENDOR on the Federal Business Opportunities website at http://www.fedbizopps.gov/. If you are not registered, the Government is not responsible with providing you with notification of any changes to this solicitation. You must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration in order to be eligible to receive an award from this solicitation.
