Description
This requirement is a firm fixed commercial repair for 10 ea diesel engines to be repaired and refurbished, 2815-01-148-6279RN part number 849168, as part of an engineering study. Maintenance to be performed includes, but is not limited to, teardown, analysis, overhaul, repair, testing, procurement of spare components, packaging, handling, storage, transportation, data collection, engineering support and services. The Contractor will ensure each item is returned to the approved government destination in a serviceable condition, capable of effectively serving its intended operational purpose and meeting the original specifications by the OEM. Support shall include contractor to acquire, track, monitor, and manage the remanufacture processes for the engines to ensure timely sustainment of the A/M32A-86D fleet. A Test/Inspection Report will be submitted and approved. CAV AF reporting will also be required. This requirement will be Sole Source to MTU Detroit Diesel Inc, CAGE 72582 using commercial practices. Inspection/Acceptance will be Destination. Shipping will be FOB Destination to the following locations: FB2805 2 EA FB6633 1 EA FB0643 2 EA FB6231 1 EA FB6102 2 EA FB6161 2 EA Offerors shall prepare their proposals in accordance with instructions contained in the RFQ. All responsible sources may submit a bid, proposal, or quotation which shall be considered by the agency. It is anticipated that the RFQ issue date will be on or around 15 Apr 09; proposals are due 30 Apr 2009. The RFQ and technical data required to respond will not be posted to the Federal Business Opportunities webpage ( http://www/fbo/gov/ ). For a copy of the RFQ and data please contact the POC listed below. No questions regarding the solicitation will be responded to unless submitted in writing to the POC listed below. Questions and answers shall be posted to www.fbo.gov without revealing either the submitter or responder. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received by 30 Apr 09 will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
