- Description
- NRCS-Illinois plans to issue a solicitation for a logjam removal Emergency Watershed Protection (EWP) project. The logjams are located on the North Fork of the Embarrass River in the in the Illinois counties of Clark, Crawford, and Jasper. There are approximately 42 locations with several logjam sites per location. Access routes to each site will be shown on the plans. The work typically consists of removal of the logjam and stacking the material on site against existing trees in a manner that will not allow the debris to readily reenter the channel in future flood events. Some of the debris piles must be burned. The estimated price range is between $100,000 and $250,000. To allow potential offerors and opportunity to obtain a better understanding of the work required, a pre-bid conference will be held on April 30, 2009, at 10:00 AM local time at the Crawford County NRCS field office located at 1212 N. Allen Street, Robinson, Illinois. The group will not tour the sites since the project area is quite large. Solicitations will be available at http://www.fedbizopps.gov on or about April 28, 2009. Any changes to the solicitation will be made only at ww.fedbizopps.gov; it is the responsibility of the contractor to check this web address for any posted changes prior to submitting a bid. To be eligible for award, prospective contractors must complete Online Representations and Certifications Application (ORCA) electronically at http://orca.bpn.gov in conjunction with required registration in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database.
