Description
DESCRIPTION(s): In compliance with the transparency and accountability requirements associated with the supplemental appropriations provided by the American Recovery and Re-investment of Act 2009, Pub. L. 111-5, the Government posts this presolicitation notice of intent to issue an 8(a) Sole Source Request for Quote to E.Z. Mechanical, Inc., 7366 Caribou St., San Antonio, TX 78238-1230. This presolicitation is for: "Informational Purposes Only." The Project description is as follows: PROJECT SCOPE: Contractor shall provide all labor, materials and equipment required for the replacement of 30 each Fan Coil Units and associated piping in Building 10338 (also known as The Hope Chapel), Lackland Air Force Base, Texas. The chapel facility has a gross area of approximately 10,000 square feet and is divided into the chapel area and an office area. The work required to be performed by the contractor shall result in complete and functioning systems and shall consist of, but is not limited to, the following principal items: PROJECT REQUIREMENTS: The contractor shall demo 30 fan coil units ranging in capacity from approximately.75 ton to approximately 3 tons. Two of the fan coil units are located in the balcony area of the facility; all other fan coil units are located at ground level. Contractor shall demo all ancillary fan coil unit components. Existing architectural wooden covers/enclosures for the fan coil units in the chapel area shall be retained for use with new fan coil units. Contractor shall demo approximately 900 linear feet of piping, the majority of which is located in the crawlspace. Contractor shall install 30 new fan coil units of the same approximate capacity, configuration and dimensions as existing units in the same location as existing units. The 19 fan coil units in the chapel shall each have a thermostatically controlled and electrically actuated face and bypass damper. The 11 fan coil units in the office area shall each have a thermostatically controlled and electrically actuated three way valve. Contractor shall install a new two pipe hot/chilled water distribution system consisting of the same pipe sizes and of the same configuration as the existing two pipe distribution system. Contractor shall insulate all new piping. Existing mechanical room piping, pump, boiler and expansion tank shall remain. New piping shall begin at mechanical room walls. Contractor shall install electrically actuated valves, sensors, logic components and controller as necessary to provide automatic heat/cool changeover. Contactor shall clean each of the ducts for the chapel fan coil units. Contractor shall install electric/electronic controls as necessary to maintain set point temperature in heating and cooling modes. Set point and space temperature for the six fan coil units along the North wall of the chapel and for the five fan coil units along the South walls of the chapel shall be determined and maintained by a central thermostat for each group of units.
