Description
Industry Day Announcement with formatting. The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), Office of Information Services (OIS) and Office of Administration, Division of Contracts is pleased to announce the upcoming release of a solicitation for agency-wide “Information Technology Infrastructure and Support Services (ITISS)” in late 2009/early 2010. The NRC is in the process of planning for a follow-on contract that will provide ongoing agency-wide ITISS. Vendors who are interested in potential prime or sub-contractor roles are highly recommended and invited to attend an Industry Day to be held on June 1st, 2009. During the Industry Day, amplifying information about the procurement will be provided and questions will be solicited from the vendor community. Questions and comments may be submitted IN WRITING ONLY either via email or at the event. NO VERBAL QUESTIONS will be accepted. The NRC will be making an oral presentation to registered attendees. Please carefully review the information below: Name:ITISS Industry Day Date: June 1st, 2009 Time: 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Please be sure to arrive no later than 8:00 am EDT to allow ample time to pass through security. Location: NRC Headquarters Building One White Flint North 15555 Rockville Pike Rockville, MD 20852 Registration: 2 Attendees per interested firm or organization may attend and MUST PRE-REGISTER VIA EMAIL AT ITISS@nrc.gov NO LATER THAN 5:00 PM EDT ON MAY 15TH, 2009. To register, please email your name, company name, address, phone number, and email address to ITISS@nrc.gov. The subject line should read: “Industry Day Registration”. Registrations will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis. Only the first 250 registrants will be accepted. Detailed Additional Information: The Headquarters White Flint North offices are located in suburban Maryland, just outside of Washington, DC. Three major airports and an Amtrak train station serve the metropolitan area. A Metrorail subway station is located across the street from the White Flint North Buildings and near the Gateway Building. Metrorail can take you to and from Reagan National Airport, Union Station (Amtrak), and major hotels in the Washington/Rockville area. DUE TO LIMITED PARKING NEAR THE NRC, ATTENDEES ARE ENCOURAGED TO UTILIZE THE METRORAIL FOR TRANSPORTATION TO THE NRC. Directions to NRC Headquarters by Public Transportation Metrorail From downtown Washington, DC, take the Red Line (toward Shady Grove) to the White Flint station. The NRC Headquarters is across the street (Marinelli Road). Routes and schedules can be obtained by calling Metro at 202-637-7000 or by visiting Metro's Web site at www.wmata.com. There you can view a map of the Metro system ; NRC is near the upper left, on the Red Line, at White Flint station. Amtrak The most practical way for out-of-town visitors to reach the NRC by train is to travel by Amtrak to Union Station in downtown Washington, DC, and then take Metro to the NRC in Rockville, Maryland. Directions to NRC Headquarters by Car From Reagan National Airport 1.From the airport terminal, follow the Washington exit, which will place you on the George Washington Memorial Parkway. 2.Follow the George Washington Memorial Parkway (along the Potomac River) northwest for 12 miles. 3.Turn right at the Maryland exit onto Interstate 495 north. 4.Continue on Interstate 495 for 4 miles. 5.Bear left for the Interstate 270 exit. 6.Continue on Interstate 270 for 3/4 mile, to first exit (Democracy Blvd.). 7.Turn right onto Democracy Blvd. east, and continue for 3/4 mile. 8.Turn left onto Old Georgetown Road (MD 187 north). 9.Proceed 1.4 miles to Nicholson Lane, and turn right. 10.Turn left onto Executive Blvd. 11.Turn right onto Marinelli Road. 12.Proceed across Rockville Pike (MD 355). 13.Turn right at the driveway behind the NRC Headquarters complex. From Dulles International Airport 1.From airport terminal follow the Dulles Access Road toward Washington, DC. 2.Proceed for 14 miles to the Baltimore/Bethesda exit onto Interstate 495 north. 3.Continue on Interstate 495 for 7 miles. 4.Bear left for the Interstate 270 exit. 5.Continue on Interstate 270 for 3/4 mile to first exit (Democracy Blvd.). 6.Turn right onto Democracy Blvd. east, and continue for 3/4 mile. 7.Turn left onto Old Georgetown Road (MD 187 north). 8.Proceed 1.4 miles to Nicholson Lane, and turn right. 9.Turn left onto Executive Blvd. 10.Turn right onto Marinelli Road. 11.Proceed across Rockville Pike (MD 355). 12.Turn right at the driveway behind the NRC Headquarters complex. From the Baltimore-Washington International Airport 1.From the airport terminal, follow the exit for Interstates 195 and 495 toward Washington, DC. 2.Follow Interstate 195 for 4.5 miles, and take the Washington exit onto Interstate 95 south. 3.Follow Interstate 95 for 21 miles; keep right to turn onto Interstate 495 toward Silver Spring. 4.Follow Interstate 495 for 8.5 miles. 5.Take the Rockville exit onto Rockville Pike (MD 355)--stay left. 6.Follow Rockville Pike about 2 miles, and turn right onto Marinelli Road. 7.Turn right at the driveway behind the NRC Headquarters complex. From Virginia and points south via the Capital Beltway 1.Follow Interstate 495 toward the west and north, across the Potomac River. 2.Three miles after you cross the river, bear left onto the Interstate 270 exit. 3.Continue on Interstate 270 for 3/4 mile to first exit (Democracy Boulevard). 4.Turn right onto Democracy Blvd East, and continue for 3/4 miles. 5.Turn left onto Old Georgetown Road (MD 187 north). 6.Proceed 1.4 miles to Nicholson Lane, and turn right. 7.Turn left onto Executive Blvd. 8.Turn right onto Marinelli Road. 9.Proceed across Rockville Pike (MD 355). 10.Turn right at the driveway behind the NRC Headquarters complex. Additional Information 1.Visitors to the NRC building should use the main entrance, facing Rockville Pike. 2.There is a limit of two (2) representatives from each firm or organization allowed to attend the conference. 3.Pre-registration is required and will be on a first come, first serve basis. Responses to questions submitted prior to June 15th, 2009, 5:00 pm EDT will be posted in FEDBIZOPPS no later than July 8, 2009, 5:00 pm EDT.
