Description
QUESTIONS & ANSWERS REGARDINGSOLICITATION VA-255-09-RP-0255PROJ 657A5-08-104, FRONT STEPS RESTORATIONMARION, IL, VAMC NOTE: The following questions have been submitted by interested parties, and the answers are being publically posted in order to make the information available to all potential offerors. 1. QUESTION: Drawing Sheet 1-ASI: General Notes item B states to install new stainless handrails. All other notes on both pages refer to re-installing existing aluminum handrails. Please clarify which is correction. ANSWER: This will be addressed in an Amendment to the Solicitation. The reference to new stainless steel handrails will be deleted from Note B on Drawing 1-AS1. The actual work entails removal, storage, cleaning, and reinstallation of the existing handrails. 2. QUESTION: Drawing Sheet 1-ASI states "no work existing wall" referring to limestone cheek wall. Sheet 1-AS2 shows details for removing all veneer stone down to existing concrete wall and re-installing limestone. Which is correct? ANSWER: This will be addressed in an Amendment to the Solicitation. The notes on F1/1-AS-1 referring to "no work" will be deleted. The actual work includes removal, cleaning and reinstallation of the stone on the side walls as detailed. 3. QUESTION: Will the Government provide a copy of the site attendees list for the above mentioned project? ANSWER: As stated in the Pre-Solicitation Synopsis posted on www.fbo.gov, "no organized site visit is planned for this solicitation." This was further clarified in the Solicitation, under provision 52.236-27 SITE VISIT (CONSTRUCTION) (FEB 1995), which also indicates that no pre-scheduled site visit had been designated. Therefore, each interested offeror must to arrange their own site visits, during normal duty hours, by contacting the designated individual, who was identified as: Tommie Lee Carter. Because this Solicitation is a competitive negotiated acquisition, under FAR Part 15, there is no disclosure of the identities of offerors prior to making award. However, as also stated in the Pre-Solicitation Synopsis, there is an Interested Vendor List function available at the same FBO web site listed above. 4. QUESTION: Please advise if there is any metal railing required on the job? ANSWER: This issue is addressed fully in Question #1 (above). (END OF QUESTIONS & ANSWERS)
