Description
The Army Contracting Command (ACC) Joint Munitions & Lethality Life CycleManagement Command, on behalf of the US ARMY ARDEC office, located at Picatinny, NJ is seeking product information on a highly ruggedized push button momentary switch. The push button switch should be constrained to the following criteria. The shape of the push button surface should be concave (indented) to fit the finger OR the surface shall provide a high degree of frictional resistance, either will suffice. A positive indication of control activation shall be provided (e.g., snap feel, tactical feel). The button shall be circular in nature with the minimum actuator diameter to be 10mm and not exceed 19mm. The actuator resistance shall be a minimum of 2.5N and a maximum of 7N. The actuator distance shall be a minimum of 2mm and a maximum of 6mm. The switch shall be in the normally open position and momentarily close when pressed to the full actuation distance. The push button shall also be illumines, although it is only a momentary on switch. The Light emitting diode (LED) shall be able to be controlled through 2 separate (positive and negative) lines out of the push button housing. The system must also withstand shock loads up to 500g's. Please include the operational temperature ranges for the switches. Companies are invited to indicate their interests by providing specifications, brochures, manuals, reports, demonstration video and other technical data as well as identification of current customers and rough indication of pricing for a single highly ruggedized push button momentary switch. In addition, please provide the companys name and address, point of contact with telephone number and email address, and size of business (small/large). This is a market survey for information only and shall not be construed as a Request for Proposal (RFP), nor does it obligate the Government to issue an RFP. The US Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this market survey or otherwise pay for information solicited. The Government is not obligated to notify respondents of the results of this survey. All data should be sent to the US Government no later than May 15, 2009, to the Army Contracting Command, Attn: Roger Tang, CCJM-JA, Bldg. 10, Picatinny Arsenal, NJ 07806-5000. E-mail submittals should be sent to roger.tang@us.army.mil.
