- Description
- The Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City intends to issue a sole source purchase order to Avian Engineering LLC, 22099 Three Notch Road, Suite 113, Lexington Park, MD, for the acquisition of maintenance support for the AN/AQS-20A system. Contractor support is also being acquired for data analysis support to investigate issues with the AN/AQS-20A System. This procurement is sole source for the following reasons. Avian Engineering is the only knowledgeable company that can provide technical support and repair of the AN/AQS-20A Mine-Hunting system during Remote Minehunting Vehicle (RMV) testing. Avian Engineering has the sole expertise in the interaction between the AN/AQS-20A and the RMV. This places Avian Engineering in the sole position of being able to trouble shoot any issues that arise during testing. Use of another company to conduct the troubleshooting and repairs may introduce new, or change existing parameters that may induce unacceptable error into ! the AN/AQS-20A system. Failure to accurately repair the AN/AQS-20A system could result in significant damage to the AN/AQS-20A tow body. Therefore it is imperative that this effort is awarded to Avian Engineering immediately. The Request for Quote (RFQ) number is N61331-09-T-9517. Simplified Acquisition Procedures is the method of award for this procurement. The NAICS code is 541330 with a SBA size standard of $4.0M. The order shall be firm fixed priced with an expected completion date on or around 31 December 2009. The expected award date will be on or around 8 May 2009. Delivery will be to the Naval Support Activity Panama City, Receiving Officer Building 100, 101 Vernon Avenue, Panama City, FL 32407-7001. Delivery terms for this requirement are FOB Destination.
