- Department of Veterans Affairs Network 21 Consolidated Contracting will be issuing a Request for Proposal for a General Construction Contractor to provide all labor and materials for upgrading the HVAC and Lighting Systems in Building 7, Wings A, B, C, D, and F at the VA Palo Alto Health Care System, 3801 Miranda Avenue, Palo Alto, CA 94304. Work will include: demolition and removal of existing structures; equipment; piping; ductwork; ceilings; lighting and other items as required. HVAC work will include: replacement of all existing duct work, rooftop units and their controls; replacement and modification of chilled and hot water piping systems; providing new chiller and, testing and training of HVAC system. This solicitation is a total Service Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business Set Aside (SDVOSB). Offers will only be accepted from SDVOSB's. This is a Pre-Solicitation announcement only. Solicitation documents will be available on or about April 29, 2009. Offerors will be required to submit both a technical and pricing proposal. Solicitation will contain proposal instructions. A mandatory Pre-Proposal Conference and Project Site Visit will be held on May 14, 2009 at the Palo Alto facility from 9:00am - 11:00am. Exact location will be published in the solicitation. This conference is mandatory; offers will only be accepted from contractors attending the conference. Estimated project cost is between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000.
