- The contract will consist of a one-year base period with the option to extend for four (4) additional one-year periods. The estimated cost range is up to $500,000 per year, for a total of five years. Provide all work required for gravel supplementation and large wood placement at Zone 1 (RM 60), including placement of stream gravels; collecting logs scattered in log booms, transporting logs along gravel roads, placing logs in stream beds; and restoring the site after construction. All construction will be located on lands owned by the City of Tacoma or the Federal government. The project requires placement of a base quantity of 7,000 tons of gravel nourishment and an additional optional quantity up to 14,000 tons. The work also includes collection, transport, and placement of large wood debris in the vicinity of Howard Hanson Dam (HHD) and the Green River. Contractor is required to open the log boom, collect individual logs, and then reconnect the log boom. The quantity to be collected and transported is approximately 30 pieces of large wood. Logs will range up to 50 feet long and 40 inches diameter with attached root ball. Special equipment operating procedures and decontamination will be required. All work conducted below the ordinary high water line shall be subject to completion dates depending on a site-specific and weather basis. Project is open to Small Businesses only. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 237990 with a size standard of $33.5 million. For the purposes of this procurement, a firm is a small business if its annual average gross revenue, taken for the last 3 fiscal years, does not exceed $33.5 million.
