Description
This synopsis modification 02, among other changes, reassigns the previoussolicitation number N61331-08-R-0017 to read N61331-09-R-0018. All futurecorrespondence related to this requirement shall be annotated with this number. NSWC Panama City Division, Panama City, Florida intends to solicit competitiveproposals to fabricate, assemble, inspect and test both inert and live safetyand arming devices. This effort includes the replacement of dry film lubricantstudy, first article, fabrication of a Safety and Arming Device, MK 75 Mod 1 andMK 81 Mod 0 and Engineering Services. Quantities are 9 pre-production FirstArticle Safety and Arming Devices, 30-50 production Safety and Arming Deviceswith Shipping & Storage Containers, and 20 inert loaded Practice Safety andArming Devices MK 81 Mod 0 with Shipping & Storage Containers. Options includeadditional Safety and Arming Device production units with Shipping & StorageContainers, inert loaded Practice Safety and Arming Devices MK 81 Mod 0 withShipping & Storage Containers, and spare parts. The fabrication will bebuild-to-print. The Safety and Arming Device consists of a mechanical assemblycomprised of machined steel and aluminum housing cont! aining a power spring, a gear driven regulator, an electro-explosive detonator,and two explosive pellets. The Shipping & Storage Container consists of amilitary specification ammunition box with internal blow-molded packing.Explosive components will be Government furnished. Conformance testing, toinclude live fire testing, will be included in the solicitation and requested aspart of the offeror's proposal. Required delivery dates for lubricant study,first article, production items shall be defined in the forthcoming issuance ofthe solicitation. Options will be included for Safety and Arming Device parts,Shipping & Storage Containers and explosive components. Period of Performancesand Delivery information will be specified in the solicitation. The anticipatedcontract type is a firm-fixed-price type contract.
